One of the things that has been bugging me lately (granted it’s not a big thing, but is is still a “thing”) is that a recent Blogger “update” means that you HAVE to enter a title for any image or gadget you add to your sidebar. Blogger will then automatically display this title above your image. *Sigh* It never used to be that way. I neither need or want a title above every gadget in my sidebar Mr Blogger!
It used to be that if you left the title field blank, then no title would be displayed. This is what happens when you try and leave the title field blank now….
A bit of delving threw up some solutions that involve html/css code being inserted in your Blogger template. However there is a far simpler option. Simply enter <!–> in the title field instead and hit “save”…..
Job done! I prefer this method to applying a blanket code for all images or gadgets to the template, because I still have the option to have titles displayed IF I want them. Plus it’s super simple if you don’t fancy tinkering with your template’s code π
It is frustrating an cluttering when Blogger requires a title. Thank you for the fix. It is sitting on a post it cor when I run into it. Thank you.
AAAAAAAAWESOME.
Thank you! I’ve long had a title I wanted rid of. What a relief!
This is brilliant – thank you!
Thanks for this!

OMG, such a small yet crucial thing that’s been totally bugging me lately! Thank you SO much for sharing, it has literally made my weekend…as sad as that may sound!!!
YES! This has been driving me nuts, too!
Yay! You’re a genius!
So glad you figured this out and shared it – why is it that Blogger upgrades are more often not helpful or wanted at all?!
Awesome tric- Diya TheHobbyHarbork !! Thanks for sharing π
Thank you for the tip – very useful!
So simple, at least: if you know about it, so, thanx a lot!
It’s like you read my mind! I noticed this the other day and wasted about 20 minutes trying to trick the system, to no avail. Done now, ta! x
oooo, clever! I thought leaving it blank would be easy too, I hate those red warnings when you are not expecting them. I’ll pin this so I don’t forget next time I’ve got a bit of time to play!
